home Karin Andersen was born in september 1966 in Burghausen, Germany. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy, graduating in 1990 with a research on the relationships between art and ecology. She also attended the bologna based comics and illustration school "La nuova Eloisa" in 1991.

In her paintings, drawings, photos, digital images and videos she tries to question human opinions about the idea of being "alien" and "different", to blur the boundaries between concepts like nature and culture or human and animal, simulating surprising interactions between different lifeforms and different natural or artificial environments.

Her collaborations include visuals and digital animations for music videos and performing art projects. She has lectured and written about her studies on the meanings of zoomorphism in art history and contemporary art.
She is a member of the scandinavian artist-run association "Kuten" which promotes public art events in many european countries.
